Inspiring Young People

A group of Year 11 pupils took the opportunity to meet with a very special ex pupil of Saint Bede's this half-term. Giuseppe Dal Pra is now studying History and Politics at Oxford University, which is one of the best universities in the world. Giuseppe talked about who would be eligible (any Bede could apply), the application process, his course of study and inevitably, the great social life at university! He finished by encouraging all pupils to do their absolute best in their studies at Saint Bede's, before answering questions from Year 11s who were keen to know more. Several pupils described the experience as "very interesting and useful.” All the pupils involved agreed that it was an inspiring experience and they represented their year group exceptionally well through their keen interest.

Year 11 were also given some key advice and encouragement at the end of the half-term when Mike Conlon visited the school to deliver a session on study skills. He gave pupils advice on revision techniques, organisation, time management and the best environment to work in. Mike also delivered a session to Year 10 and parents of both year groups.
