We were delighted to welcome the Osigili Maasai Warriors to Saint Bede's on Friday 22nd September. The seven strong group come from the village of Oleopolos in southern Kenya and are currently on their annual tour of the UK.
In full tribal costume, they performed authentic and exciting Maasai tribal song and dance which included the legendary jumping. To the delight of the audience, there was some memorable participation by staff and pupils.
The event was also a valuable opportunity to learn about the lifestyle of the Maasai people and the work of the charity they work in close association with - Osigli Charity Projects which supports the development of the infrastructure in their local community.
All our Year 7 pupils thoroughly enjoyed this memorable event and were also joined by pupils who were recognised for achieving 100% attendance last year and those who had done such a good job assisting staff at Open Evening.
