Ten pupils took part in this year’s Fairtrade Young Chef competition and the standard was incredibly high. This year’s winner is Paul Cross with a recipe for Chocolate Brownie and Raspberry Coulis. Eleanor Webb came in second place with a recipe for Barbeque Chicken with Mango Salsa and in third place was Hannah Burdess with a recipe for Hot Salmon Salad with Chickpea and Pomegranate and Spiced Sweet Potatoes. The Commendation Prize for the best knowledge and use of Fairtrade ingredients went to Isobel Rushton with Aromatic Pear Strudel (vegan) and Marcelina Solarska with Chocolate Banoffee Pots. All the winners received generous gift vouchers and every competitor took away some Fairtrade goodies and reward stamps for all their hard work. Thank you to Mr. Grice, Mrs. James and Mrs. Malley for helping to judge the competition and for your continued support of Fairtrade. Massive congratulations to all who took part.
