Catholic Teaching Alliance

The Preston based Catholic Teaching Alliance (CTA) is a partnership between 56 Catholic primary and secondary schools and post-16 colleges with a shared vision and commitment to providing first class, professional development for trainee teachers, practising teachers and school leaders.  We work in partnership with the University of Cumbria. The CTA is underpinned by a shared passion to train and develop outstanding and inspirational teachers who are highly employable and dedicated professionals who appreciate the distinct nature of working as part of a Catholic community. Based at Our Lady’s Catholic High School, Preston. you can find more information at Catholic Teaching Alliance

Newman Teaching Alliance

The Newman Teaching Alliance’s one-year course is designed in partnership with North West based Edge Hill University to offer all the benefits of a conventional PGCE with a firm grounding in practice as well as theory.  The Alliance includes five local partner high schools at present.  All of these schools are local, long-standing partners of Cardinal Newman College and all have been graded as outstanding or good by Ofsted in their last inspection.  This course gives ITT students the unique opportunity to combine training in a post-16 academic environment as well as training at KS3 and KS4. Based at Cardinal Newman College, Preston you can find more information at Newman Teaching Alliance

Lancaster and Fylde Schools Alliance

The Lancaster and Fylde Schools' Alliance is comprised of four schools based in Lancaster and on the Fylde coast. These schools have been chosen to be part of our alliance as they offer our trainees a comprehensive and supportive environment in which they flourish as teachers. The schools, which offer an excellent introduction to the diversity found in UK schools, are staffed by committed, enthusiastic and experienced mentors who have proven success ensuring the best outcomes from our trainee teachers. We work in partnership with the University of Cumbria. You can find more information by visiting the Lancaster and Fylde Schools Alliance webpage.
