The CTA is underpinned by a shared passion to train and develop outstanding and inspirational teachers who are highly employable and dedicated professionals who appreciate the distinct nature of working as part of a Catholic community. NEWMAN TEACHING ALLIANCE

The Newman Teaching Alliance’s one-year course is designed in partnership with North West based Edge Hill University to offer all the benefits of a conventional PGCE with a firm grounding in practice as well as theory.  The Alliance includes five local partner high schools at present.  All of these schools are local, long-standing partners of Cardinal Newman College and all have been graded as outstanding or good by Ofsted in their last inspection.  This course gives ITT students the unique opportunity to combine training in a post-16 academic environment as well as training at KS3 and KS4.
